About the role

  • Working Student in Audio Software Development at Fraunhofer Institute focusing on real-time speech and audio applications. Collaborating with engineers to integrate in-house technologies into functional frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain 3D audio applications for smartphones, desktop platforms, or web browsers
  • Build cross-platform applications using Rust and Dioxus
  • Deploy audio-based machine learning models from PyTorch to mobile devices and NPUs
  • Integrate in-house audio codecs and audio signal processing algorithms into working systems
  • Extend and maintain Git-based CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a degree program (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Information and Communication Technologies, or a related field)
  • Experience with at least one programming language: C/C++, Rust, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Familiarity with Git and basic software development workflows
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Enjoy working collaboratively in an international team
  • Ideally: experience with Python/PyTorch (deep learning), web or basic mobile development, and DevOps/automation (including scripting, CI/CD, containerization)
  • Basic knowledge of digital signal processing (speech and audio) is a plus
