About the role

  • Data Scientist responsible for end-to-end analytical solutions for iA Financial Group. Collaborating with business partners to enhance value using data innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end analytical solutions, contributing to the full project lifecycle from problem framing with business partners to model deployment and adoption.
  • Explore, prepare, and validate data rigorously, including feature engineering, model testing, and post‑deployment monitoring.
  • Apply rigorous, explainable methods appropriate to a regulated industry environment.
  • Work directly with business partners to proactively surface opportunities where data science can create measurable business value.
  • Coach junior team members and contribute to raising the technical level of the team.
  • Stay current on AI and data science trends through self‑directed learning.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure proper integration and maintenance of solutions.

Requirements

  • Possesses insurance or financial services knowledge, ideally in risk, pricing, claims, or underwriting environments.
  • Demonstrates proven end-to-end delivery from problem framing to deployment.
  • Is proficient in Python or R and SQL.
  • Has exposure to GenAI, NLP, or modern machine learning frameworks (asset).
  • Brings 5+ years of experience in data science, actuarial science, or a related domain.
