About the role

  • Signal Processing Research and Development Engineer at ARL, focused on developing algorithms for sonar systems to support Navy and DoD initiatives. Collaborate with a diverse team to produce data products and tools for national defense operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and validation of algorithms for analyses and data product generation
  • Evaluate algorithm performance, data quality, and feasibility of novel approaches
  • Collaborate with a diverse group of experts including engineers, scientists, and DoD personnel
  • Support field testing and training sessions with DoD personnel
  • Provide technical guidance to mid and early career faculty and staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science
  • 14+ years of relevant experience for Senior Professional or 19+ years for Principal Professional
  • Prototyping computing languages such as MATLAB or Python
  • Implementing advanced phased array signal processing techniques
  • Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher.
