About the role

• Data Scientist implementing data products to solve business problems at Helcim. Collaborating with teams to advance analytics capabilities and impact key business functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement data products (AI, predictive models, segmentation strategies, and decision-making tools) to assess and mitigate risks.
• Work with business teams to find opportunities and develop valuable solutions that solve the right problems.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to embed data products within Operations’ processes.
• Monitor model performance and conduct ongoing evaluation and iteration to improve predictive accuracy and business impact.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion opportunities for data and AI to scale our impact.
• Partner with the Data Platform team to ensure data capture, cleanliness, system development and monitoring meet the needs of our risk mitigation efforts.
• Contribute to our MLOps strategy and support the implementation of data governance initiatives.

Requirements

• 4+ years of industry experience in a data science or similar role.
• Demonstrated experience using statistical methods or machine learning algorithms to solve business problems.
• Experience collaborating on the deployment of data products into production.
• Proficiency in the programming languages of our analytics stack (SQL and Python) or other related languages.
• Experience in consumer or business credit, fraud modeling, or go-to-market analytics will be a significant asset.
• Experience with the following technologies: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and their BigQuery Data Warehouse, Metabase or other business intelligence applications, Data transformation technologies such as dbt, Apache Spark or similar distributed computing platforms.
