About the role
- Electrical Designer responsible for design and calculations for solar PV installations on commercial properties at Good Energy. Collaborating with project managers and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop the full electrical system design and layout for solar PV supplies, including product specification.
- Create detailed electrical schematics and single-line diagrams for all installations.
- Interpret and translate requirements provided by Surveyors and Project Managers into accurate designs.
- Ensure all final designs meet current regulations, comply with relevant codes, and adhere strictly to safety standards.
- Perform comprehensive technical calculations to formally demonstrate regulatory compliance.
- Execute accurate cable calculations using industry-approved software such as Amtech or Trimble.
Requirements
- Proven work experience as an Electrical Designer.
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Amtech or Trimble and other related software.
- Excellent understanding of electrical design and electrical systems.
- BSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Valid full driver's license.
- Experience in the solar PV industry is a plus but not essential.
