About the role

• Intermediate Civil Engineer at GHD managing civil engineering projects in Calgary or Edmonton. Engaging in creative solutions for sustainable infrastructure development with a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Manage medium and large-scale integrated watershed and infrastructure planning/civil engineering projects
• Producing conceptual and detailed design drawings for a wide variety of civil and water infrastructure projects, including site grading, water distribution, wastewater and stormwater systems, and linear utility design.
• Supporting or leading design work in an integrated 3D environment that meets company and industry standards.
• Applying technical knowledge and coordination skills to solve problems on complex multi-disciplinary projects
• Act as a technical lead for a defined scope of work
• Participating in water and wastewater pumping station design, treatment facility design, and system assessments.
• Supporting infrastructure planning, asset management, and capital upgrade programs for municipal clients.
• Coordinating with multiple business groups within GHD, subconsultants, and external agencies.
• Contributing to the development of proposals and project strategies.
• Mentoring junior staff and supporting their technical growth and career development.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of civil engineering experience
• Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering
• Demonstrable experience with civil engineering, multi discipline projects
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills (both oral and written), with the ability to interact effectively and collaboratively within all levels of the organization
• Experience managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a demanding consulting environment
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate work to meet required deadlines while complying with procedures and best practices
• Knowledge of BIM platforms, design programming, visualizations and automation are considered assets.
