About the role

  • Lead Engineer developing GE Aerospace’s Integrated Modular Avionics product line. Drive systems engineering verification and validation across various aircraft platforms with a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Help develop GE Aerospace’s Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) product line.
  • Drive impact across functional, business, and company-wide objectives.
  • Execute a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems.
  • Identify and quantify system requirements and perform design trade studies.
  • Contribute to project planning and bids.
  • Lead, guide, and contribute to the systems engineering verification and validation efforts across GE Aerospace’s Common Core Platform.
  • Execute plans and tasks related to systems engineering verification and validation activities for aircraft computing products.
  • Manage and coordinate issues, problem reports, deviations, and change requests to closure.
  • Lead/manage interdisciplinary collaboration with various teams such as software, hardware, test, safety, quality, maintainability, reliability, and certification teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or relatable field of study.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in design & development and/or technical project leadership within an engineering product development environment.
  • Ability and desire to mentor other engineers in key technical areas.
  • Previous experience that enables the candidate to understand and translate between different engineering disciplines.
  • Systems engineering thought process on verification.
  • Systems Engineering degree/certification.
  • Prior experience managing or designing within an Avionics Design Assurance Level A or B Environment.
  • Familiarity with networking products or data concentrator systems.
  • Familiarity with interfaces including but not limited to analog, discrete, RS-232/422/485, ARINC 429/664/825.
  • Experience with engineering processes including requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements validation, requirements verification, integration, embedded software, electronic systems, FAA/EASA/NAA certification, and system safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in systems verification activities, including but not limited to test plan creation and execution of test scripts/cases.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person.
