About the role
- Senior Software Engineer working on Electricity Market Management System, leading development and technical efforts in power systems applications and features for utilities. Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- work closely with a team of 8-15 people responsible for enhancing, evolving, and supporting large on-premise highly-available Electricity Market Management System (MMS)
- contribute and lead advanced Power Systems Application software design, development, testing, integration and tuning to meet project and/or product commitments.
- developing power system features for Electric Utilities, Independent System Operators (ISOs) and Transmission System Operators (TSOs)
- defining, developing, and evolving software in a fast paced and agile development environment
- Provide domain knowledge and/or technical leadership to a team of electricity markets application software engineers
- ensure software delivery is on schedule, within budget and meets or exceeds customer expectations
- interact with Product Development Team, Customers, Solution Providers, and other cross-functional teams as required.
- apply principles of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, software and product security, scalability, documentation practices, refactoring, and testing techniques
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with thesis or related work in power systems OR in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- A minimum of Six (6) years of experience in Electricity Markets, Security Constrained Unit Commitment and Economic Dispatch using Mixed Integer Programming (MIP), or Power System Analysis applications.
- PhD in Electrical Engineering with thesis or related work in power systems (desired)
- Three (3) years of experience in development or project delivery experience in Electricity Market field (desired)
- Strong understanding of Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP)
- Experience with testing and test automation.
- Strong knowledge of source control management and GitHub in particular.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
