About the role
- Director of Engineering overseeing modernization efforts of cloud-native architecture for Foley's technology platform. Responsible for driving infrastructure automation and leading engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Lead cloud architecture modernization by driving containerization, service migration, infrastructure-as-code, automated provisioning, and event-driven design.
- Develop and enforce infrastructure standards including guardrails, reference architectures, and operational guidelines for product teams.
- Scale secure CI/CD pipelines and embed DevSecOps practices such as automated security testing, dependency scanning, and secrets management.
- Build and evolve the Internal Developer Platform (IDP) to streamline developer workflows, improve productivity, and provide reusable components for product and data teams.
- Drive reliability and observability through SRE practices, actionable monitoring, SLOs, error budgets, and improved on-call and release-readiness processes.
- Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing Cloud & Platform Engineering team, fostering technical excellence, coaching, career growth, and strong cross-functional partnerships.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive engineering experience
- 3+ years leading cloud, platform, DevOps, or SRE teams
- deep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation)
- hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline automation, Git-based workflows, and security automation
- designed and operated highly available, scalable, secure systems
- led platform modernization efforts in a product-driven organization is a bonus
- experience in regulated environments; ownership of cloud migrations; familiarity with microservices, API gateways, service mesh, and distributed systems is a bonus
