About the role

  • Sales Designer responsible for customer inquiries and project continuity with RESCo's design team. Engages in proposal preparation and sales feasibility work in solar energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of the RESCo Sales Team, reporting to the Director of Business Development, you will work closely with other departments such as Design, Service and Estimating.
  • This role will be responsible for moving sales through the Sales Department Process; responding to customer inquiries, preparing preliminary designs and maintaining internal sales processes.
  • The expectation of the role is to work closely with RESCo’s in-house design team to ensure project continuity is maintained throughout the customer experience.
  • Working with RESCo’s Department Coordinator to prepare custom quotes, proposals, and formal Request for Proposal (RFP) responses for all RESCo services (Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), EV Charging, and Preventative Maintenance solutions)
  • Perform sales feasibility work: Using Helioscope, PVSYST and CAD software to prepare custom, preliminary solar PV designs
  • Create preliminary production, load and renewable fraction estimates
  • Attend site to gather necessary information such as measurements, electrical interconnection details and basic structural information
  • Prepare detailed financial models, compiling inputs from other department resources
  • Analyze solar feasibility, including structural, electrical, roofing, utility interconnection and billing data analysis
  • Evaluate bids, tenders and RFP opportunities
  • Maintain document management throughout sales process
  • Respond to solar inquiries via email, website, or phone
  • Attend site visits and meet with customers, where required
  • Prepare quarterly, monthly or weekly sales analyses
  • Prepare Project Kick-Off Forms for handoff to Operations Department upon contract award
  • Attend all design team meetings, and ensure project continuity from sales, through design into construction

Requirements

  • CET - Certified Engineering Technologist - Preferred
  • Candidates MUST have strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and exceptionally organized
  • Requires up-to-date computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher)
  • Experience with solar design software, Helioscope, PVSYST, AutoCAD
  • Experience with utility interconnections and/or billing analysis
  • Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle
