About the role

  • Financial Reporting Manager responsible for financial reporting, SEC compliance, and accounting oversight at First American. Requires CPA and significant SEC reporting experience with a strong emphasis on GAAP compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains integrity of accounting information and reporting in accordance with standards and rules under GAAP, SEC regulations and in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Preparation of quarterly SEC filings, including financial statements and notes to financial statements.
  • Provides technical accounting oversight including evaluating the impact of changes in accounting guidance on Company's financial statements.
  • Documents accounting policies and procedures and participates in external audits.
  • Performs complex accounting research and analysis to ensure GAAP compliant financial statements and SEC reports.
  • Drafts the quarterly 10-Qs and annual 10-K.
  • Manages quarterly SEC filings including use of the in-house reporting tool.
  • Manages the accounting and reporting for the Company’s share-based compensation and employee benefit plans.
  • Creates and maintains comprehensive supporting documentation for quarterly SEC filings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA designation required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting, accounting, or a related field, including SEC reporting experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of public accounting experience required; Big 4 experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced expertise in the interpretation and application of U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations; IFRS knowledge a plus.
  • Experience working with large ERP systems, with Oracle and Hyperion preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex scenarios, assess alternatives, and recommend effective solutions.
  • Demonstrated complex problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present technical accounting matters to diverse audiences.
