  • Engineering Manager leading software engineering teams at First American. Responsible for delivering high-quality code and mentoring staff to enhance product development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees departmental activities for outcomes, including cost efficiency, operational methods and effective staffing
  • Mentors, coaches, and contributes to the career development of your team
  • Supports and advocates for your software engineering staff through career planning and training
  • Leads delivery of major initiatives on clear timelines
  • Partners effectively outside of your area to manage projects
  • Builds a culture of open communication
  • Supervises a cross-functional team responsible for high-quality code delivery
  • Works with Product Managers to ensure timely releases and well-tested features

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience building full stack applications using modern frameworks, robust testing practices and application monitoring tools
  • 5+ years managing engineering teams
  • Strong leadership skills that can attract, engage, and retain talent
  • A skillset working to cultivate a caring culture that promotes belonging, all-around well-being, and equity on your team by leading inclusively
