About the role

  • Lead Consultant managing civil engineering teams for Roads & Transportation projects. Ensuring high quality project delivery and technical guidance in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional supervision and technical guidance to team members.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager to ensure consistently high service standards and delivery.
  • Deputise for the Service Manager when required.
  • Support preparation of budgets, spending profiles and service plans.
  • Co‑ordinate workload, resources and programmed service delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver committee reports, papers, presentations and recommendations aligned with service priorities.
  • Stay ahead of new innovation, best practices and technical standards.
  • Engage with Consultants to provide specialist design support.

Requirements

  • Degree standard education (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
  • Significant experience in the Roads and Transportation industry.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of key legislative components.
  • Strong IT skills and willingness to embrace technology.
  • Political awareness and experience engaging with elected members.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, promoting a positive culture in the workplace.
  • Experience in preparing and managing project plans and programmes, with a focus on digital integration.
  • Ability to travel within Fife.
