About the role

  • Quality Assurance Specialist managing and executing quality assurance for Duck Creek implementations and releases. Overseeing test planning, execution, defect management, ensuring high-quality deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute quality assurance activities for Duck Creek implementations and releases across one or more Lines of Business
  • Oversee and drive test planning, execution, and defect management for the policy lifecycle to ensure stable, compliant, and high-quality deliveries aligned with Duck Creek out-of-the-box capabilities
  • Communicate, prioritize and track test execution, defects and issues appropriately and recommend corrective action when required
  • Direct all activities related to functional testing, regression testing, UI testing, and unit testing for all new features in cross browser environments including mobile devices
  • Deliver quality products by ensuring that thorough testing and all phases of development life cycle are accomplished using a combination of testing methods
  • Define and own the end-to-end QA test strategy for Duck Creek implementations and upgrades
  • Establish testing standards, governance, and quality gates across all phases of delivery
  • Promote OOTB-first testing and minimize unnecessary customizations
  • Provide quality risk assessment and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Develop and manage comprehensive test plans and execution for policy lifecycle components (quote, bind, issue, day2 transactions) as part of System Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and UAT support
  • Coordinate testing across Duck Creek modules and Ecosystem applications such as Policy, Billing, Claims, Rating, Forms, and Integrations
  • Manage test environments, test data, and release dependencies
  • Ensure timely and high-quality execution of test cycles aligned with program milestones
  • Own the defect management lifecycle including triage, prioritization, root-cause analysis, and closure
  • Partner with development, SI, and Duck Creek teams to resolve quality issues
  • Track and report quality metrics such as defect trends, test coverage, and defect leakage
  • Escalate quality risks with data-driven insights
  • Lead performance and scalability testing for policy, endorsement, renewal, and rating workflows
  • Work with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders in Agile/Scrum environments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in computer science or related
  • Minimum of six years of Duck Creek QA experience
  • Strong knowledge of Duck Creek platforms including Policy, Billing, Claims, Rating, Forms, and Integrations
  • In-depth understanding of insurance domain concepts , including Admitted and E&S lines of business
  • Knowledge of Duck Creek OOTB capabilities , configuration patterns, and upgrade impacts
  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies, QA governance models, and SDLC/STLC
  • Understanding of regulatory, compliance, and filing requirements in insurance systems
  • Knowledge of performance testing concepts, baselining, and environment stability considerations
  • Proven ability to define and execute enterprise QA strategies for large-scale Duck Creek implementations
  • Strong test planning, estimation, and execution management skills across multiple LOBs
  • Expertise in defect management, root-cause analysis, and risk-based prioritization
  • Ability to analyze quality metrics and present concise, executive-level status and risk reporting
  • Effective communication skills to translate technical issues into business impact
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple operating systems, databases, tools & programming languages used by FCCI
  • Experience supporting custom and third-party business applications, as well as understanding project interdependencies and systems integrations
  • Ability to lead and mentor QA teams across onshore and offshore models
  • Ability to manage multiple releases and competing priorities in fast-paced programs
  • Ability to influence without authority and drive quality outcomes across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to identify quality risks early and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Ability to make data-driven go/no-go recommendations for releases and production readiness
  • Ability to work effectively in vendor-led and matrixed environments
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and organizational skills.
