About the role

  • Underwriting Technician Trainee learning to process commercial property and casualty business. Training in quoting, issuing policies, providing underwriter assistance, and supporting agents.

Responsibilities

  • Learn to process all lines of commercial property and casualty business within an assigned territory.
  • Quote, issue new and renewal policies, amend existing policies, cancellations, endorsements.
  • Evaluate policy files, provide technical assistance to underwriters, assist agents in their efforts to write business.

Requirements

  • One year work experience, preferably in the commercial insurance industry.
  • Knowledge of basic insurance principles.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • The ability to learn through self-study, in addition to formal training.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
