About the role

• Lead propulsion system development for reusable space orbital vehicles at The Exploration Company. Overseeing engineering teams to ensure timely and budget-compliant project execution.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team of engineers and technicians, managing and directing a team of engineers and technicians who work on a variety of engineering projects.
• Leading the hiring process, defining the needs, the job description, conducting the interviews and onboarding newcomers.
• Supporting and challenging the team in their main design choices and development logic.
• Overseeing the planning and execution of engineering projects, ensuring that engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Supporting the business team to find new opportunities.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master of Science or PhD) in propulsion engineering, system engineering, aerospace engineering, or another related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in systems engineering or spacecraft development roles.
• Strong understanding of cryogenic rocket engines and cryogenic propulsive systems.
• Demonstrated experience in managing requirements, interfaces, and technical budgets.
• Strong leadership and management skills, capable of leading a geographically distributed team and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality products.
• Excellent collaboration skills for working effectively across departments to achieve seamless system integration.
• Fluency in English, with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organization and task prioritization skills.
• Positive and flexible attitude.
• Ability to communicate at all levels of the business.
