About the role

  • Structures Composite Design Engineer developing technical solutions for high-profile aerospace programs. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with airworthiness standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate and implement technical solutions for some of our high-profile programmes of work
  • The Design Engineer will help to ensure designs are compliant with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements and internal standards within the programme, schedule, and manufacturing constraints
  • Have a shared responsibility in the design of structural aircraft identifying technical problems and creating technical solutions
  • Working with both composite structures and different assembly techniques
  • Will be part of a multidisciplinary team together with analysis engineers, manufacturing engineers, and tooling engineers
  • Work on the integration of all requirements and input from other engineering disciplines into the conceptual and detailed design, such that the product definition can be made and a cost-efficient and producible design is achieved.

Requirements

  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in composite structural design
  • Demonstrated technical project delivery
  • Composite Product Design (CPD)
  • Engineering to GKN design standards and requirements
  • Generate DFM datasets
  • Generate compensated tooling surfaces
  • Support to tooling suppliers
  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing teams as required
  • Provide post manufacture product engineering assessment
  • Experience with next-generation composite materials and technologies.
