About the role
- Mechanical Engineer developing and integrating systems for rail vehicles in Zürich. Ensuring reliability and compliance of mechanical designs with stakeholder engagement.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical design & systems engineering
- Ensure the reliability, robustness and compliance of mechanical system designs for rail vehicles.
- Analyze technical issues that arise during development, testing, commissioning or operation.
- Perform root cause analyses and develop appropriate technical solutions.
- Design and develop mechanical components and system modifications (CAD).
- Provide support across the entire lifecycle: Analysis → Design → Manufacturing → Integration → Validation.
- Coordinate with suppliers for the production and integration of mechanical solutions on the vehicle.
- Produce technical documentation, specifications and production-ready reports for internal and external stakeholders (including operators).
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (technician qualification also acceptable).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
- Excellent CAD skills, ideally CATIA V5.
- Fluent German and very good English (both required).
- Strong communication skills and proactive stakeholder management.
- Agile, independent, adaptable and quality-oriented.
