About the role

  • Mechanical Engineer developing and integrating systems for rail vehicles in Zürich. Ensuring reliability and compliance of mechanical designs with stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design & systems engineering
  • Ensure the reliability, robustness and compliance of mechanical system designs for rail vehicles.
  • Analyze technical issues that arise during development, testing, commissioning or operation.
  • Perform root cause analyses and develop appropriate technical solutions.
  • Design and develop mechanical components and system modifications (CAD).
  • Provide support across the entire lifecycle: Analysis → Design → Manufacturing → Integration → Validation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for the production and integration of mechanical solutions on the vehicle.
  • Produce technical documentation, specifications and production-ready reports for internal and external stakeholders (including operators).

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (technician qualification also acceptable).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Excellent CAD skills, ideally CATIA V5.
  • Fluent German and very good English (both required).
  • Strong communication skills and proactive stakeholder management.
  • Agile, independent, adaptable and quality-oriented.
