About the role
- Intermediate Engineer focusing on structural design and evaluation of bridges at Entuitive. Responsible for project delivery and collaboration with a team of professionals in bridge engineering.
Responsibilities
- Analysis and detailed design of new bridges, bridge rehabilitations and evaluations, culverts and retaining walls.
- Conduct and oversee bridge inspections, prepare condition assessment reports, and develop rehabilitation or strengthening strategies.
- Preparation of structural reports
- Supervision of bridge CAD technicians for production of drawings and project deliverables
- Mentor other junior and intermediate team members
- Review of construction shop drawings
- Ability to oversee and manage several large-scale bridge projects
- Preliminary and detailed design of new bridges, culverts and retaining walls, and rehabilitation of existing structures
- Conduct inspections of existing bridges, culverts and retaining walls and prepare reports
- Prepare technical construction specifications
- Liaise with contractors and owners during design and construction
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Civil/Structural engineering from an accredited university
- Post-graduate degree would be an asset
- 5+ years of experience in bridge design, rehabilitation, and/or construction engineering.
- Conversant with CHBDC (CAN-S6), MTO Structural Manual and MTO practices and policies
- Registered or eligible for Professional Engineering designation
- Strong background in review and design of concrete and steel bridges
- Proficiency with structural analysis software (e.g., CSiBridge, SAP2000, Midas Civil) and AutoCAD
- Be able to facilitate inter-discipline coordination and cooperation
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment
- Must demonstrate a collaborative attitude in working with members of the Team
- Knowledge and interest related to embodied carbon is considered an asset
