About the role

• Solutions Software Engineer designing and implementing custom solutions for integrated systems at Emerson. Collaborating with diverse teams and customers to ensure high-quality software development.

Responsibilities

• Accurately identify customer needs and provide estimates for integrated system solutions
• Interact with customers, NI staff, external partners, and external suppliers in support of designing, implementing, and sustaining custom solutions
• High-level collaborative design of integrated solutions
• Ensure that consistency to custom solution development processes, new product introduction processes, and standards
• Review work quality and provide feedback to other engineers
• Design and develop software libraries and APIs to be employed by multiple projects
• Work with Senior Engineers to find optimal technical solutions to project challenges
• Responsible for software engineering work (documentation, code reviews, etc.) and development tasks

Requirements

• Minimum BS degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) rigor
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software development, and system integration and/or test and measurements industry
• In-depth technical knowledge of NI products and platforms.
• Willing and able to travel up to 25 % of the time
• English level B2
• BS or equivalent experience in or higher in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (preferred)
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering, electronics & computer architecture (preferred)
• Demonstrated success and experience using high-level programming languages (LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++) (preferred)
• Experience developing large-scale integrated systems (preferred)
• Proven expertise in processes ensure quality and predictability for software development (preferred)
• Thorough understanding of systems design principles (preferred)
• Ability to identify and solve system engineering problems (preferred)
• Excellent technical and executive communication skills and experience working directly with customers, engineers, and business team members (preferred)
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment (preferred)
• Service oriented attitude (preferred)
