Field Service Engineer providing technical support and system upgrades in cybersecurity for customers. Collaborating within the Lifecycle Services team to enhance security and performance using advanced technologies.
Responsibilities
Perform system maintenance tasks and conduct performance evaluations
Provide technical support to customers, lead investigations, and recommend solutions
Deliver remote technical assistance (phone, internet) for system architecture and troubleshooting
Participate in on-call shift-based services and emergency call-outs to ensure fast and efficient customer support
Assist in design studies, hardware and software upgrades, and modifications
Support project activities at customer sites, including system installation and application programming
Provide on-site customer training for Emerson products
Stay current with the latest technologies and products relevant to your role
Requirements
A degree in engineering, networking, computing, or electronics control and instrumentation (or equivalent practical experience)
Knowledge of IT/OT networking, cyber security, virtualization, programming software, operating systems, Active Directory, patch management, backup, and recovery
Strong communication skills and proficiency in Italian and English, both written and spoken
Extensive knowledge of network architectures, administration, core infrastructure components, wireless technology, and fieldbus systems (preferred)
Experience with start-up and commissioning in process automation (preferred)
Familiarity with network architecture, DCS systems, and field implementation (preferred)
Willingness to travel frequently across Italy and occasionally internationally (preferred)
Availability for non-office hours, including weekends, to support customers and perform call-out services (preferred)
Associate-level certification for services performed on-site (preferred)
Understanding of control and instrumentation theory, including control loop configuration (preferred)
Knowledge of Emerson Process Management and Process Systems and Solutions products (preferred)
Experience with automation and control systems in process industries (typically 2–4 years) (preferred)
Valid driver’s license preferred (preferred)
