About the role
- Behavioral Health Care Manager II ensuring access to quality behavioral healthcare and managing treatment benefits. Collaborating with other care managers and participating in team projects.
Responsibilities
- Managing psychiatric and substance abuse treatment benefits through telephonic or written review
- Assessing member needs to ensure access to medically necessary quality behavioral healthcare
- Referring cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate
- Performing psychiatric and substance abuse assessments, case planning, monitoring, and evaluating
- Serving as a resource to other BH Care Managers
- Assisting with complex cases and participating in inter and intradepartmental teams, projects, and initiatives
Requirements
- Requires MA/MS in social work, counseling, or related behavioral health field, or a degree in nursing
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with facility-based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment
- Current active unrestricted license such as RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LBA, or Clinical Psychologist
- For states that do not require licensure, a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) is acceptable
- Previous experience in case management/utilization management with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases required
- Prior managed care experience required
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving, facilitation, and analytical skills
