About the role
- AI & Software Licensing Associate supporting Edinburgh Innovations in the commercialisation of AI and software technologies. Evaluating and marketing innovations while managing multiple workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Support the commercialisation of intellectual property arising from the University of Edinburgh’s research in AI, data science, quantum computing, and digital technologies.
- Contribute to the evaluation and commercialisation of digital and AI technologies, including software, data assets, and associated know-how.
- Participate in IP disclosure evaluation, due diligence, market analysis, and early marketing of technologies.
- Support TTM colleagues in licensing and spinout formation activities.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a closely related discipline.
- Knowledge of technology transfer, within university or equivalent experience gained within a commercial or innovation-focused environment, together with an understanding of intellectual property management and commercial due diligence.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, while maintaining a proactive customer focus.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence working with academic researchers and commercial partners.
