About the role

  • AI & Software Licensing Associate supporting Edinburgh Innovations in the commercialisation of AI and software technologies. Evaluating and marketing innovations while managing multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Support the commercialisation of intellectual property arising from the University of Edinburgh’s research in AI, data science, quantum computing, and digital technologies.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and commercialisation of digital and AI technologies, including software, data assets, and associated know-how.
  • Participate in IP disclosure evaluation, due diligence, market analysis, and early marketing of technologies.
  • Support TTM colleagues in licensing and spinout formation activities.

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Software Engineering, Data Science, AI, or a closely related discipline.
  • Knowledge of technology transfer, within university or equivalent experience gained within a commercial or innovation-focused environment, together with an understanding of intellectual property management and commercial due diligence.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, while maintaining a proactive customer focus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence working with academic researchers and commercial partners.
