About the role

Senior PHP Lead Developer overseeing therapy app technology and backend systems in Germany. Ensuring efficient software development and regulatory compliance while leading a development team.

Responsibilities

You take overall technical responsibility for our therapy app and the associated backend systems.
Your focus is on architecture, infrastructure, code quality, and the required documentation.
You ensure efficient software development with your team and ensure timely implementation of the product requirements defined by the Product Owner.
You plan, develop, and maintain a functional, scalable, and requirements-driven software architecture and infrastructure.
You enable the development team through technical leadership and optimize performance.
You develop new backend features and work hands-on with the code.
You conduct code reviews within your team.
You are responsible for the development side of sprint planning and ensure that plans are adhered to (technical specification, effort estimation, adherence to the Definition of Done).
You ensure the technical implementation and compliance with regulatory requirements, including ISO 13485 (QMS), ISO 27001 (ISMS), BSI-TR-03161 (data security), as well as future certifications and standards.
You translate regulatory requirements related to software together with our Product Owner into technical product adjustments, documentation, and processes.

You have excellent knowledge of the PHP programming language.
You have experience with Laravel, REST API, Vite.js, Vue.js, Nova, MySQL or similar systems.
You possess solid knowledge of modern software development practices, software architecture, infrastructure and server operations (AWS), as well as quality assurance.
You have experience with agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum or Lean Management).
You bring initial leadership experience and enjoy leading and developing a team technically.
You have very good German language skills (at least C1).
You are well organized, can keep track of many topics, and can handle multiple tasks in parallel.
You communicate clearly and on equal terms.
You can explain complex technical issues simply and understandably.
