About the role

  • Occupational Therapist supporting residents of East Sussex in their homes with housing adaptations. Responsible for assessments to promote independence and wellbeing in partnership with housing and social care.

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking person-centred functional assessments in people’s homes and recommending appropriate housing adaptations to promote independence, safety and wellbeing
  • Completing housing needs assessment to provide recommendations to support housing decisions ensuring individuals are matched to accommodation that meets their long-term needs

Requirements

  • An Occupational Therapy qualification and registration with the professional regulatory body
  • Communication skills including report writing, liaising with members of the public, managers, and other agencies
  • Ability to plan and organise a varied workload for self and others, working to short deadlines within community settings
  • Experience of operating under pressure where demand is constant and priorities need to be set/reviewed
  • Ability to use initiative and take responsibility
