About the role

  • Structural Engineer designing a variety of building projects at DIALOG's Calgary studio. Collaborating with engineers and designers to deliver high-quality structural designs for community wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Acting as a design engineer on a variety of building projects of various sizes and complexity
  • Following through all phases of projects from concept design through construction
  • Being driven to provide the highest technical quality in the delivery of designs, drawings, specifications, and in the field
  • Work with DIALOG's robust Specifiers to develop construction specifications
  • Working closely with our integrated team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, as well as other partner firms
  • Prepare contract documents to evaluate tenders
  • Building relationships of trust with clients and other outside agencies
  • Opportunity to manage projects while working with limited supervision and participate in project planning
  • Review the installation, modification, testing and operation of structural design
  • Provide Contract Administration support for your projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering is required; a post-graduate degree is preferred
  • 5+ years of related industry experience and eligibility of P.Eng.
  • Literate in Revit
  • LEED, Green Globes, ENV SP (or other similar sustainability) certification is considered an asset
  • An articulate and persuasive communicator that can convey complex technical concepts to non-technical firm leaders, staff and clients
  • Energetic, engaged, and demonstrates initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and multiple tasks/projects
  • Located in, or willing to relocate to, Calgary
