About the role
- DevOps Engineer working on Linux-based infrastructure focusing on automation with tools like Ansible and Terraform. Engaging in international projects and ensuring optimal system operations.
Responsibilities
- Managing technically challenging projects in large, often international customer environments
- Designing, developing and automating Linux-based infrastructures — primarily on RHEL — using Ansible and Terraform
- Gathering and analyzing customers' technical requirements in existing or new environments
- Installing, integrating and migrating larger IT infrastructure systems according to customer requirements
- Operating and continuously optimizing customer RHEL-based Linux server landscapes
- Ensuring smooth system operation, including monitoring (e.g., Checkmk), patching, troubleshooting and performance optimization
Requirements
- Degree in (business) computer science or vocational training in an IT-related field
- Solid experience administering Linux server infrastructures, ideally with RHEL (8.3 and later)
- Deep knowledge of automation with Ansible, optionally including Ansible Tower/AWX
- Experience with modern infrastructure technologies such as Terraform, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of configuration and operation of web servers such as Apache HTTP and Apache Tomcat
- Experience connecting to and managing MS SQL databases and with monitoring tools (Checkmk) is a plus
- Ideally experience creating and maintaining scripts (e.g., Bash, Python) to automate operational processes
