About the role

  • Senior Data Analyst collaborating with AEC’s multidisciplinary data team to analyze electoral data and provide actionable insights. Involves data modeling, reporting and dashboard development in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross functional teams to define requirements for data products, analytics, and reporting dashboards.
  • Gather, clean, and analyse data from various systems to generate actionable insights.
  • Develop and maintain automated reports and dashboards to monitor key metrics.
  • Design, plan, and manage data migrations, including risk assessment, mapping, testing, and documentation to ensure successful transfer of data between systems.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, helping to design and build new systems to perform analytics and detection of non-compliance in a regulatory context.
  • Support workflow automation and troubleshoot data-related integration issues.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and support process improvements based on data analysis.
  • Perform additional duties or assume responsibility of functions as directed from time to time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Communications, or a similar field.
  • Proven experience as a data analyst, with strong technical skills in designing data models, developing databases, and using data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Able to write data queries, create reports, and clearly present findings.
  • Strong analytical skills to collect, organise, analyse, and accurately interpret large datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
  • Expertise in developing dashboards and data visualisations using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools.
  • Ability to work in a team environment delivering a high level of customer service, with the ability to build strong working relationships and trust with clients, stakeholders and senior management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Qualifications in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics.
  • Experience using reporting and statistical software, databases, and programming (SQL, Python, R, or ETL frameworks) for extracting, manipulating, automating, and analysing large datasets.
  • Knowledge or experience working with Microsoft DevOps is highly desirable.
  • Experience using any of the following software (Purview, Azure Data Factory, Profisee, ER Studio, Erwin).
