About the role
- Mobile Software Engineer building and maintaining iOS and Android applications for Custom Surgical's healthcare products. Engaging in performance-critical mobile software in clinical environments.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain native mobile applications for iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin);
- Work closely with device hardware, including camera pipelines and low-level APIs;
- Implement efficient image and video capture, processing, and storage routines;
- Integrate and manage FFmpeg or similar multimedia pipelines;
- Ensure high performance, stability, and reliability in production environments;
- Collaborate with backend, cloud, and hardware teams on end-to-end solutions;
- Improve existing codebases with a focus on maintainability and performance;
- Contribute to technical decisions regarding mobile architecture and tooling.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience in native mobile development;
- Strong expertise in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android);
- Solid understanding of mobile app architecture and lifecycle;
- Experience with camera APIs, media pipelines, or hardware-level features;
- Experience handling large files and mass storage, both local and network-based;
- Familiarity with multimedia tools such as FFmpeg or similar;
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and clean coding practices;
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
