About the role

  • Analyst V responsible for providing regulatory support on product tax compliance. Collaborating with business partners on tax reporting and withholding initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complicated research and data analysis to identify and strengthen tax reporting controls and product tax practices
  • Supports various aspects of the product tax compliance model
  • Develop system requirements and schedules for compliance initiatives
  • Conduct compliance reviews on withholding and information reporting processes
  • Provide detailed verbal and written compliance guidance to business partners
  • Support transactional research, forms review, tax reporting, unclaimed property, and claims
  • Respond to internal/external inquiries and research product tax issues
  • Build strong relationships with business partners to resolve complex tax issues and ensure alignment on compliance initiatives
  • Provide clear, actionable compliance guidance to business partners; communicate complex tax rules in understandable terms
  • Requires extensive experience in product tax and tax information reporting and withholding (IRW)
  • Applies best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve tax compliance
  • Strong understanding of annuity and life insurance product development and regulatory compliance
  • Solves complex problems with innovative, flexible approaches
  • Leverages data analytics to identify trends in product tax and reporting
  • Supports, coach and guide team members creating a productive team environment
  • Works independently with minimal supervision

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in product tax, tax information reporting, and accounting experience
  • FLMI and/or CPCU designation preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of tax reporting concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Expertise in federal tax laws Chapters 3, 4, 61 regulations and filing requirements for Forms 1099, 5498, 945, 1042, 1042-S
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and manage most conflicts to successful resolution in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate technical tax information into understandable and actionable information
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience; preferably on a product tax and information reporting compliance team
  • Prior experience with process re-engineering, design and automation.
