About the role

• Cyber Security Specialist focuses on securing IT environments and implementing security standards. Engaging in continuous development of security strategies and solutions across systems in a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

• Secure IT environments and implement security standards
• Analyze and harden existing infrastructures (network, servers, clients, cloud)
• Design and implement security policies, firewall rules and access concepts
• Maintain and evolve existing security solutions (e.g. Endpoint Protection, EDR, VPN, M365 Security) — with a particular focus on Fortinet/FortiGate firewalls (policy management, VPN, user access, logging)
• Vulnerability management and execution of security assessments
• Detect threats and manage security incidents
• Monitor security-relevant events, logs and alerts (e.g. FortiAnalyzer)
• Raise team awareness through security-awareness initiatives and clear action recommendations
• Work independently, systematically and with a solution-oriented approach
• Manage projects related to IT security (internal & customer-facing)
• Collaborate with the admin team, company management and, where applicable, external partners
• Continuously develop the security strategy with technical depth and foresight

Requirements

• Degree or vocational training in IT, ideally with a focus on IT security
• Professional experience in IT administration or cyber security
• Solid knowledge of network security, firewalls, Windows security and M365 Security
• Experience with security solutions such as EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS and SIEM is an advantage
• Analytical thinking, structured work style and discretion
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken
