About the role

• Senior Cost Engineer ensuring efficient cost management on landmark Energy project in Teesside, working in collaboration with project controls team and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Work within the project controls team and be responsible for cost control and forecasting.
• Have a central role in the application for payment, earned value management and weekly and monthly reporting.
• Providing insight into variances between planned and actual costs and recommendations for mitigations.
• Use your knowledge and experience to support the most efficient and effective delivery of the project.
• Based in Teesside with a requirement to be on site as a minimum 3 days a week.

Requirements

• Degree/HNC/HND ideally in quantity surveying or construction / engineering related discipline or relevant experience.
• Experience in a similar role on a complex project- ideally Energy
• Able to demonstrate expertise of Excel and should have had exposure to various bespoke cost management software systems
• Control, monitor, analyse and report cost related aspects for designated projects within a Portfolio.
• Earned value management
• Cost control and forecasting
• Project reporting
• Effective communication within team and with stakeholders.
• High level of numeracy and excellent analytical skills.
• Breadth of experience across whole project lifecycle (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation/Commissioning processes).
• Experience with Business Intelligence Software (such as Power BI) preferred but not essential.
