About the role
- Platform Engineer DBA responsible for maintaining IT platforms at Core Specialty. Managing SQL databases and cloud-based applications in Azure and AWS environments.
Responsibilities
- responsible for maintaining IT Platforms, especially availability, performance, reliability, and compliance with regulations
- Set up, manage and maintain SQL databases and SQL based applications in a Cloud (Azure, AWS) environment
- Support end users and business users in the above environments
- Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with vendors for: Ordering new hardware (computers, monitors, etc.) Telephone (including hardware) Internet
- Ability to support remote users (about 30% of total staff and expanding)
- Discipline to understand change control, checklists, repeatable processes, etc.
- Ability to manage additional resources in future to cover desktop support (i.e. delegation of lesser tasks once up to speed).
- Very service oriented and has a proven ability to multi-task simultaneous requests
- Follow, maintain and upgrade all relevant documentation and standard operating procedures (SOP)
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university preferred
- at least 4-6 years related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) 2003/2008 are beneficial but not required
