About the role
- Data Science Specialist responsible for developing scalable machine learning solutions and mentoring team members at Comgás, enhancing data-driven decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
- Central role in building scalable Machine Learning solutions that deliver real business impact.
- Translate complex business problems into scalable analytical solutions using advanced models (regression, classification, clustering and optimization), focusing on performance and value generation for the business.
- Act as a technical reference and mentor for the Data Science team, strengthening skills and technical alignment across squads while incorporating new technologies.
- Advance model architectures, Machine Learning pipelines and experimentation practices, ensuring robustness, scalability, governance and technical best practices, including versioning, deployment and monitoring.
- Promote technical quality and Responsible AI practices, ensuring explainability, solid development practices and governance.
- Communicate results clearly to both technical and business stakeholders, turning analyses into strategic drivers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field.
- Proven experience as a technical leader in Data Science, driving high-complexity projects with direct business impact.
- Advanced mastery of Machine Learning and a strong statistical foundation, including inference, hypothesis testing, experimental validation and model development.
- Experience with MLOps and modern architectures for model development and production, including versioning, deployment and monitoring.
- Proficiency in Python and major data and Machine Learning libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch), as well as frameworks for LLM-based applications.
- Experience with modern data platforms and environments such as Databricks and Azure, and with observability practices.
- Preferred: English proficiency.
