About the role

• Engineering Leader overseeing AI-native development for cloud and Private SaaS at Cognite. Leading platform deployment strategies and building high-performing teams across locations.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall deployment strategy across Private SaaS and Multi Cloud, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reliability.
• Lead and grow engineering teams responsible for platform services, developer tools, observability, and reliability practices.
• Define and execute the roadmap for deployment automation, environment management, observability, and continuous delivery.
• Drive operational excellence across all environments, ensuring uptime, performance, and service quality aligned to defined SLOs.
• Establish and maintain reliability metrics (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets) and embed these into engineering culture and processes.
• Partner with the Architecture, Security, and Product teams to ensure platform services meet performance, compliance, and scalability goals.
• Champion platform reusability and internal developer productivity through tools, shared services, and CI/CD optimisation.
• Lead incident management and post-mortem practices, fostering learning and transparency.
• Collaborate with customers and partners for Private SaaS deployments to ensure secure, compliant, and high-performing environments.
• Mentor engineering managers and leads, driving a culture of ownership, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to Cognite’s AI-native transformation, embedding automation, AI-assisted diagnostics, and intelligent observability into engineering operations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering leadership roles spanning platform, infrastructure, or reliability domains.
• Proven success leading SaaS or hybrid cloud deployments with high availability and stringent security requirements.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, etc.).
• Hands-on familiarity with observability and reliability practices (e.g., SLO/SLI, error budgets, incident management).
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical programs across multiple teams and time zones.
• Strong collaboration and influencing skills able to partner with Product, Architecture, and Security to drive shared outcomes.
• Proven experience in building scalable engineering systems and teams that balance innovation with reliability.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to connect technical initiatives to business impact and customer outcomes.
• Passionate about modern engineering practices, developer productivity, and a culture of learning and excellence.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in data platforms, industrial, or mission-critical software.
• Background in multi-cloud or Private SaaS delivery models.
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR, or similar.
• Exposure to AI-driven observability or autonomous remediation systems.
• Experience managing distributed teams across geographies (Europe and Asia).
