About the role

  • Strategic Purchasing Manager handling indirect procurement at Coca-Cola FEMSA. Focus on cost optimization, supplier partnerships, and contract negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Will act in the strategic management of indirect procurement categories, with emphasis on miscellaneous spare parts, PPE, laboratories, chemicals/gases, energy, water/sewage and industrial labor. Responsible for leading contract negotiations, identifying cost-optimization opportunities and developing partnerships with key suppliers.
  • Responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for the categories under their management, focusing on operational efficiency, technical quality and cost reduction.
  • Will actively manage the supplier base, conducting contractual and commercial negotiations that involve lead times, supply conditions, service levels and innovation opportunities.
  • Will be responsible for monitoring the area's key KPIs, ensuring adherence to established targets and alignment with corporate guidelines.
  • Will maintain direct interface with areas such as Manufacturing, Production, Finance and other internal teams, ensuring supply within budgetary limits.
  • Will also be involved in identifying and qualifying new suppliers, strengthening competitiveness and diversity in the supply chain.
  • Must ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements and applicable ESG principles.
  • Will have a leadership role in the purchasing team, promoting the technical development of staff and driving continuous process improvements.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Economics. Postgraduate qualification in Supply Chain or Purchasing Management is a plus.
  • Desired experience:
  • Previous experience in indirect procurement in the industrial sector and in the categories of gases and chemicals, utilities (water/sewage), facilities, construction and others.
  • Experience negotiating large-scale contracts and supplier management;
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) and Strategic Sourcing techniques;
  • Leadership and team management.
  • Technical knowledge:
  • Advanced Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams);
  • Market ERPs (SAP/Ariba or similar);
  • Knowledge of contract management and cost-reduction methodologies;
  • Market analysis and supplier benchmarking;
  • Strategic Sourcing methodology.
  • Languages: Advanced English (intermediate Spanish desirable).
