About the role
- System Architect specializing in radio-communication developments at Thales AEC. Leading engineering activities for VHF and HF radio solutions while collaborating with partners and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- System Architect for radio-communication developments, covering VHF and HF data radios
- Lead system engineering and IVV (Integration, Verification and Validation) activities for the target radio solutions
- Conduct assessments of potential partners and suppliers, and perform trade-off and performance analyses
- Serve as the primary technical interface to partners and suppliers in this domain
- Lead advanced studies related to next-generation radio architectures
- Support the Engineering Director in defining the associated roadmap
Requirements
- Engineering degree in Telecommunications or Aerospace
- Strong knowledge of telecommunication principles (OSI model, link budget, radio performance, baseband and RF design)
- Technical background in VHF and HF radio systems
- Demonstrated system engineering skills (INCOSE certification preferred)
- Experience with aircraft radio testing activities, co-site analyses, and avionics system development
- Technical leader with engineering accountability at the system level
- Ability to architect radio systems with a strong understanding of physical and MAC layer characteristics
- Detailed understanding of aircraft communication architectures
