About the role

  • Senior Tax Manager overseeing tax compliance and strategy for Circle K's operations in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Germany. Collaborating with global teams and leading local tax managers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in the Global Tax team to devise efficient solutions aligned with group tax strategies for your area
  • Lead team members located in Netherlands and Germany that cover our operations in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany
  • Support the systems integration from a tax perspective as part of the integration of the former TotalEnergies entities into the European Circle K environment
  • Providing guidance on, but not limited to CIT, WHT, VAT and RET to local stakeholders and the global tax team
  • Develop the common processes and procedures for Circle K’s main tax processes in Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany as part of Circle K’s overall risk control framework
  • Supervise CIT processes and calculations (including quarterly CIT provision for Group reporting), oversee CIT filings and ensure alignment between finance teams and the Global tax team
  • Support global projects, ensuring proper consideration of local tax implications, and coordinate tax-driven projects such as e-invoicing and SAF-T compliance
  • Verification of contracts and business projects for their compliance with tax law provisions
  • Stay updated on tax regulations and share knowledge with accounting, business and tax teams
  • Support SSC with statutory tax requirements and supervise the VAT filing process, coordinating with service providers and ensuring local VAT filing compliance
  • Oversee local tax audits (CIT/VAT), develop our relationship with the tax authorities, cooperate with statutory auditors and tax advisors on tax matters
  • Proactively identify initiatives to mitigate local risks or capture opportunities, engaging in projects aimed at enhancing tax effectiveness and optimizing local tax processes
  • Ensure compliance with global & local regulations (including Pillar 2, ETS2) and company’s tax policies, optimize tax processes in line with local requirements, and cultivate a strong local finance network, including SCC, for efficient tax processes

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in accounting, tax or related fields
  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience
  • Oracle JDE knowledge and previous experience in the fuel and/or retail industry are a plus
  • Strong analytical mind and eye for details, result oriented
  • Real team player, able to bridge the collaboration with global and local teams
  • Fluent in English both verbally and in writing
