Senior Engineer (Electrical) managing electrical architecture design and development for infusion devices at Fresenius Kabi. Involves collaboration on complex engineering problems in a hybrid work setting.
Responsibilities
The Senior Engineer leads the definition of the electrical architecture of Infusion devices developed by Fresenius Kabi.
Leads the design and development of products and/or processes relating to the electrical architecture.
Designs analog,
digital,
mixed signal and power circuits.
Investigates new technologies and best practices.
Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
Participate in all phases of the product lifecycle,
including development,
verification,
new product introduction,
and post market support.
Generates and implements innovative solutions to complex problems through the use of multiple disciplines and technical principles.
Establish best practices for engineering documentation within the electrical team.
Evaluates results relative to product requirements,
definitions and/or program goals.
Applies standard techniques to solving difficult problems.
Displays advance understanding of theories/practices utilized by own discipline and other disciplines outside the primary area of expertise to identifies coverage of risks,
requirements,
architectural components,
functions and performance along with appropriate regression tests to resolve difficult problems,
from conception to final design with team input.
Assesses risks and creates test plans around risk priorities;
analyzes results,
states conclusions,
and assesses residual risks after tests are complete;
in addition,
assesses adequacy of support for conclusions by test results.
Displays full understanding and knowledge of regulations,
to apply guidance and standards on design verification and design validation to test activities and work products;
prepares documentation for compliance with standard operating procedures.
Networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise to effectively operate and facilitate cross-functional teams.
Routinely provide advice and assistance to team members regarding routine and unique problems.
May supervise or direct lower-level engineers on assigned projects.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology or related field is preferred.
Advanced degree or certification preferred
Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering team,
troubleshooting and solving problems.
May publish in journals and/or hold some patents.
Minimum 3 years of experience working within a regulated industry,
Medical preferred.
Expert knowledge in analog,
mixed signal,
and power circuit design.
Experience and familiarity with standards governing medical electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility and the activities necessary to achieve IEC 60601 certification.
Skilled in writing design description documentation
Experience with communication interfaces,
including I2C,
SPI,
UART,
Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth
Experience with controls for Stepper and/or BLDC motors,
actuators,
sensors,
and data acquisition
Familiarity with circuit simulation tools,
such as PSpice
Experience with software tools including ORCAD Capture and Allegro PCB
Experience with CAD tools including schematic capture and PCB design.
Ability to work as a collaborative team member.
Ability to lead in an agile environment.
Ability to diagnose and solve problems involving multiple technologies (i.e. mechanical,
electrical,
software)
Ability to train,
mentor,
and supervise test team personnel.
