About the role
- Research Assistant performing lab duties in a Maternal Fetal Medicine lab. Responsible for experiments, maintenance, and training within the research team.
Responsibilities
- Performs duties as a member of a research laboratory in Maternal Fetal Medicine
- Responsible for performing experiments under the direction of the laboratory director
- Maintaining laboratory equipment and ordering supplies
- Maintaining required laboratory safety policies
- Maintaining lab notebook and assisting others with experiments
- Supervising volunteers and training students, residents, and fellows in lab techniques as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in biologic sciences
- Two full years of laboratory experience required
- Experience in molecular biologic techniques preferred
- Laboratory research experience including data collection
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Word) desired
- Familiarity with techniques of cell culture, Western Blotting, Northern Blotting, real-time RT-PCR, immunohistochemistry, PCR, cloning, and microscopy preferred.
