About the role
- Senior QA Automation Engineer at SMBC, developing test solutions and leading automation efforts for multiple projects while working in a hybrid setting.
Responsibilities
- Delivery Design and develop test solutions and automation in a cross-functional, agile environment
- Be our subject matter expert for test and automation around enterprise software, APIs, and other cloud SaaS platforms
- Identify, evaluate, and manage the documentation and deliverables required for each project testing and automation
- Work with product partners and developers to identify areas for improved efficiencies
- Lead junior QA engineers and manual testers
- An understanding of CI/CD pipeline and work toward our goal to “shift-left” in SDLC
- Develop a training pathway to facilitate the transition of manual testers to an automation role
- Contribute to the larger QA team e.g. investigate and report on new technologies, identify and propose Automation Process improvements
- Identify and suggest process improvements to create efficiencies and increase delivery speed in our automation
- Participate in the training and upskilling of new and more junior colleagues
- Identify opportunities for increased cross-team collaboration to improve overall processes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience in automation testing and automation strategy planning
- Expertise in black box and white box testing
- Strong coding capabilities with Python, JavaScript, Java, VBScript, and testing tools like RFT, UFT and Eggplant
- A good understanding of HTML, CSS, and other markup languages
- Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in the use of Test management tools – HP Quality Centre, JIRA, additional experience in use of Confluence would be advantageous
- High attention to detail and process oriented
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, Docker
- Familiarity with Source Control Management concepts and tools – Perforce being particularly useful
- Comfortable working with globally distributed teams
- Experience in payments related testing would be a distinct advantage.
