About the role

  • Lead Engineer customizing and optimizing Android Framework and AOSP for video collaboration at Capgemini Engineering. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust video solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Customize and optimize AOSP for video collaboration devices.
  • Design, develop, and integrate custom Android framework components, services, and APIs.
  • Work on low-level system components including Camera HAL, DisplayManager, HDMI interfaces (HDMI OUT/IN and HDMI CEC), and SELinux policies.
  • Develop and maintain Android applications and system services supporting core platform features.
  • Debug and resolve complex system-level issues involving Android services, native code, and hardware interfaces.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and QA teams for end-to-end product integration.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in Android framework development and AOSP customization.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin, Java, C, and C++.
  • Deep understanding of Android system architecture, HAL, and application lifecycle.
  • Strong foundation in operating systems, multi-threading, sockets, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Proven experience with Camera HAL and Camera2 API.
  • Hands-on experience with DisplayManager, SensorManager, HDMI OUT/IN, and HDMI CEC.
  • Skilled in debugging, root cause analysis, and performance tuning for Android systems.
  • Familiarity with wake-locks, Activity Manager, and SELinux policy configuration.
  • Proficient with tools like Android Studio, git, Gerrit, Gradle, Maven, and Jenkins.
  • Experience with REST APIs and XML.
