About the role

Responsibilities

  • Calculate manual rates by manipulating data and determining proper class setup
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines
  • Set up folders and files for new quotes and dispatch to the correct region
  • Analyze information to complete quotes
  • Prepare experience analyses on benefits (Life, Long-Term Disability, Short-Term Disability, Health, and Dental)
  • Calculate average billed rates
  • Review results and provide summaries to Underwriters
  • Assist Underwriters in the quoting process
  • Initiate process improvements and work on projects to streamline processes

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Curiosity and inquisitiveness
  • Love for math
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and precision in calculations
  • Understanding of customer-first approach
  • Willingness to work towards GBA or full CEBS designation
  • Experience and knowledge of group benefit products
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of Group Underwriting and benefit pricing is an asset
  • Reliability status security clearance required after offer acceptance.
