About the role

  • Data Platform Engineer developing event tracking and analytics solutions for BurdaForward's data infrastructure. Collaborating with teams to improve data workflows and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and operate core components of our data infrastructure for event tracking and analytics
  • Implement and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines (batch and streaming) under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Build, deploy, and monitor data workflows using modern cloud and open-source technologies
  • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Product teams to understand data requirements
  • Contribute to improving the reliability, robustness, and cost-efficiency of the data platform
  • Participate in on-call rotations and handle operational topics as appropriate

Requirements

  • Several years of professional experience as a Data Platform Engineer, Data Engineer, or in a similar role
  • Good understanding of cloud-based data platforms, ideally on AWS
  • Hands-on experience with containerized environments and basic Kubernetes knowledge
  • Practical experience with at least one modern data warehouse or query engine (e.g. Snowflake, Trino, ClickHouse)
  • Strong Python skills and initial experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
  • Experience with batch and/or streaming data processing (Spark and/or Flink)
  • Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow
  • Willingness to learn, take ownership of components, and grow within a central data platform team
