Responsibilities
Review, develop, document, and maintain system requirements and traceability across the lifecycle
Define test strategies, plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria for component, integration, and system-level testing
Analyze test results, perform root cause analyses, and recommend corrective actions
Collaborate across engineering disciplines, working closely with software developers, system architects, and test engineers to validate end-to-end functionality and mission effectiveness
Lead integration of hardware, software, and mission systems in secure DoD environments, ensuring interoperability, performance, and mission assurance
Apply modern DevSecOps practices—including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, containerized deployments, and infrastructure as code—to streamline integration and test activities
Stand up, configure, and maintain secure test environments leveraging cloud-native and virtualized resources (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or on-premise equivalents)
Use model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and requirements management tools to support design, analysis, and traceability
Contribute to risk, issue, and opportunity management; assess and report technical readiness and critical path impacts
Drive continuous improvement of integration and test processes, incorporating automation, metrics, and lessons learned to increase efficiency and reliability
Document integration results and test findings for design reviews, readiness assessments, and formal customer deliverables
Mentor junior engineers; at higher levels, provide technical leadership across projects and broader mentoring responsibilities
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
14+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Strong systems thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
Practical experience with requirements decomposition, requirements tracing and configuration management
Experience writing test plans and procedures and executing system-level integration and verification
Familiar with standard engineering tools such as requirements management (DOORS or similar), MBSE (MSOSA/Cameo or similar), test management, and common collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, Git)
Proficient with one or more scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Matlab) for test automation and data analysis.
