About the role
- IT Security Design Specialist at Boeing designing and maintaining security technical controls. Emphasizing expertise in network security products and advanced networking protocols.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical solutions to enforce security requirements and policy compliance
- Implement and validate security controls are meeting governance standards
- Consult with customer organizations and evaluate the security posture of emergent technologies
- Participate in the creation and review of design data elements (threat models, data flow diagrams, requirements, etc.) along with known vulnerabilities associated with IT systems and create designs and recommendations that lower or eliminate security risk
- Strong communication skills to support collaboration with customers, computing architects, other IT organizations, and suppliers.
- Comprehensive understanding of security policy compliance (DFARS/CMMC, SOX, etc.) and security frameworks (NIST CSF) and how it relates to technological implementation
- Broad range of knowledge of network communication concepts, principles and architectures, associated with network planning, design, integration and maintenance.
- End-to-end knowledge of network transport technologies, systems, environments, services, protocols, performance monitoring and diagnostic analysis.
Requirements
- 9+ years with Remote Access using VPN technologies.
- 9+ years firewalls, application load balancers
- 9+ years’ network experience with routing, security policy, access control lists
- Must be a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15.
- Experience with Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto Network.
- Experience with F5 load balancing
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret logs from multiple sources and correlate events
- Experience with Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA)
- Multiple firewall vendors experience
- Some coding/scripting experience (Python, Perl, PowerShell, C#)
- Technical and/or security certification certifications
- Understanding of security best practices, threats, and mitigating techniques
- Strong analytical, and integration skills
- Application/server product management experience (lifecycle management)
- Familiarity with cloud hosted environments, containers, and dev(sec)ops
- Understanding of operational and security requirements relates to factory and building automation (ICS, IOT)
- Experience with communication skills and collaboration with cross functional teams.
