  • Lead budget and fiscal expert guiding full budget lifecycle at Oregon Department of Energy. Delivering advanced fiscal analysis and safeguarding agency’s fiscal health with collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the agency’s lead budget and fiscal expert
  • Guide the full budget lifecycle, from development and validation to execution and ongoing monitoring
  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the agency’s budget
  • Deliver advanced fiscal analysis that informs strategic planning
  • Assess financial trends and their impacts
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Play a critical role in safeguarding the agency’s fiscal health

Requirements

  • Six years of progressively responsible experience that included the preparation, analysis, and administration of a budget or fiscal system
  • Experience must have included modeling and forecasting fiscal information
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public or Non-Profit Management, Finance, Accounting or a related degree may substitute for three years of the required experience
  • A graduate-level degree in any of the above areas may substitute for four of the six years
  • Advanced Analytical and Fiscal Modeling Skills
  • Advanced Excel Expertise
  • Exceptional Documentation and Organizational Skills
  • Collaborative and Customer-Service-Oriented Approach
  • Experience with State or Comparable Financial Systems
  • Ability to Communicate Financial Information Effectively in Formal Settings
