About the role

  • Senior Penetration Test Engineer conducting security assessments and penetration tests for Belden. Collaborating with IT and development teams to mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct security assessments by simulating cyberattacks on networks, systems, and applications to identify vulnerabilities using both automated tools and manual techniques
  • Plan and perform black-box, white-box, or gray-box penetration tests, emulating real-world attack scenarios to evaluate system resilience
  • Create detailed reports outlining discovered vulnerabilities, risk levels, and remediation strategies, and present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Advise on patches, configuration changes, and architectural adjustments to mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to implement fixes
  • Continuously update knowledge of emerging threats, exploits, and security tools
  • Write automation scripts to replicate attack scenarios or streamline testing processes
  • Provide training on security awareness, including social engineering tactics and best practices

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or comparable
  • 7+ years in a similar role in penetration testing
  • Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Knowledge of secure code review principles
  • Solid understanding of common vulnerabilities and attack vectors (e.g., SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, etc.) and architectures
  • Proficiency with common penetration testing tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Wireshark, and Nessus
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Fluency in English and willingness to work in Dutch-speaking teams
