About the role
- Senior Application Developer at Bank Frick, working on modernizing core banking systems with Java development. Collaborating with a team to analyze and migrate existing COBOL programs.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and incrementally re-develop existing COBOL programs in Java, following modern architecture principles
- Carry out small development tasks and continuously enhance existing applications
- Develop and implement customer-specific adjustments and extensions
- Apply Secure Development Practices (e.g., OWASP, code reviews, Threat Modeling) to ensure secure and robust software solutions
- Build, maintain and improve automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests) to ensure software quality
- Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions and processes
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in a similar position with a focus on software development and system migration within the banking sector
- Strong knowledge of Java and experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Solid experience with database queries (e.g., SQL)
- Knowledge of COBOL, RPG and CL is an advantage
- Fluent in German or English (C1/C2)
