Assistant Calibration Engineer at Babcock responsible for ensuring measurement accuracy and supporting calibration methods. Work involves working with diverse instrumentation and compliance with ISO standards.
Responsibilities
Delivering the accuracy, precision and reliability that underpin Babcock’s work across defence, engineering and fleet support.
Work with a broad mix of instruments, apply high‑accuracy measurement practices and support the ongoing development of calibration methods and documentation.
Calibration of a broad range of General-Purpose Test and Measurement Equipment.
Prepare accurate calibration certificates and reports for completed work.
Support and demonstrate facility compliance with BS EN ISO 17025 and BS EN 10012 standards.
Requirements
Strong background in high‑accuracy measurement within a quality‑driven environment.
Knowledge of BS EN ISO 17025 requirements and UKAS accreditation processes.
Skilled in developing and maintaining calibration procedures, documentation and uncertainty budgets.
Excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, customer‑focused approach, and high proficiency with IT systems and digital workflows.
NVQ3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline; an apprenticeship is preferred.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
